The idea of wine pairing isn’t new anymore, but what about yarn pairing? We’ve all taken home a stunning skein of hand-dyed yarn, only to let it languish in our stash as we wonder what to make with it. Here to help us learn how to pair yarns and patterns that actually play well together is local yarn dyer extraordinaire, Cheryl Rondeau, of Chronicles of Cheryl.
Cheryl’s seminar will delve into the world of yarn-dying to teach us how yarn colors are developed, from subtle tonals to wildly variegated colorways. She’ll then teach us how to “read” a skein of yarn to determine what kinds of patterns will let it shine, as well as learning which patterns just won’t do the yarn justice. At her pop-up the day of the class, Cheryl will even have hat kits available that have already done the pairing work for us! There will be three hat kits available, and each kit includes both yarn and pattern for a satisfyingly quick and cozy project.
Seminar will be capped at 10 people. Registration fees are non-refundable, store credit only if canceled with more than 48 hours notice.
