Design Your Own Socks

Two Saturdays, September 6 & 20, 2:30 - 4:30 pm

Have you ever wanted to design your own socks?  Or maybe you like making socks, but they never fit quite right... Fear not, sock knitters.  Vanessa is bringing back her class for socks without a pattern! (Formerly known as the "I Don't Need No Stinkin' Pattern Socks" taught for years in the Toasty Toes Sock Club.)

Day 1
Knitters will learn how to measure a standard foot, what to do when feet aren't standard, and the basic math behind sock design.  We will swatch (sorry, there's no getting around that one) and start our socks.

Day 2
Knitters will bring their sock WIPs in for troubleshooting, learn how to spot errors in other designers' patterns, and scale their patterns to fit.

Skill Level: This class is for knitters who have made at least one pair of basic, heel flap socks before.  If you prefer short row heels, or are a toe-up sock devotee, you can also get a lot out of this class.  The math behind sock design crosses over---but these sock forms are more advanced, so the more socks you have made this way, the more you will get out of this class.

Class will be capped at 6 students. Registration fees are non-refundable, store credit only if canceled with more than 48 hours notice. Registration fees DO NOT include materials. Students receive 10% discount in-store on all class related materials.
