Beginner Socks Class
Beginner Socks Class
Two Saturdays, January 18 and February 1, 2025, 12:30 - 2:30 pm
Do you have cold feet? How about really cold feet? Don’t worry. It’s not you. It’s your socks!
So, this January, why don’t you take care of your frosty footsies? In this beginning sock class, you will learn how to make a cushy, thick pair of slipper socks. Vanessa thinks this is one of the best ways to learn how to make socks—no tiny needles or skinny sock yarn here.
Not quite immediate gratification, but thicker yarn and bigger needles lets the new sock knitter focus on the principles of sock knitting without things getting too fiddly.
In this two-part class, students will learn how to make a slipper anklet sock using either worsted or heavy worsted/aran weight yarn. Skills taught:
· Short rows (used to turn the heel on a top down, heel flap style sock)
· Decreases (left and right leaning)
· Picking up stitches
· Kitchener stitch
Skill Level: Intermediate. Students MUST be able to cast on, knit, purl, and knit in the round (using DPNs, magic loop, or two circulars).
$65 per person. Materials not included. Students receive 10% off class supplies purchased in store.
Class capped at 6 students. You can also call the shop to sign up! 412-794-8332
